Welcome to Kamiuta! This is an mp3 rotation site run by rayquo and Asuya, updated every second week or so. This site is best viewed with Internet Explorer 5+, in 1024x768 resolution.

Here you'll find a collection of mostly j-rock and j-pop, though there'll also be some other genres from time to time.

Please read the rules before downloading. Thank you!

Friday December 25, 2009 → I apologize for not being active these past months - both Asuya and I were busy being murdered by school. But now that it's over, Merry Christmas!!!! Mp3s have been uploaded!!

~ rayquo

1. Download one at a time, or else you'll kill Asuya's precious bandwidth.

2. No direct-linking. Or hot-linking, or anything like that. Upload to your own server, s'il vous plait. See previous rule for explanation.

3. Please do not steal the layout or images, or Asuya just might have to cut you.

4. Delete the mp3s after 48 hours. They're for sampling purposes only.

5. Support the artist. It really is worth saving up to buy that long-coveted single or album. Trust us, we know.

6. This isn't really required, but we'd like it if you would be so kind as to tag the tagboard if you download a song. We like feedback and comments.

7. To play these mp3s, you'll need Winzip, or another file-extracting program.

8. If you would like to exchange links/affliate with Kamiuta, please be nice and write an email to us about it. Don't post a quick request on the tagboard. It's just not polite.

Title: Spiral 2005
Artist: Nekomata Master+
Description: Sorry my rotation is full of Nekomata this week, but his newest album is just too great. This boisterous song opens with tropical-sounding metal drums and an energetic male vocalist's yell. What follows is upbeat techno with some retro synthetic pipes and saxophone thrown in for that slightly '80s feel. It's a different kind of upbeat from Christmas songs, but it's guaranteed to have your head bobbing to the beat.

Title: Bahram Attack
Artist: Nekomata Master+
Description: This is a much more subdued, mythical-aired song more resemblant of Nekomata Master's work. Ambient background with electronic noise creates a space-age, mecha fighting kind of atmosphere. (LOL that makes no sense) The punching bassline comes in with crystal clear vocals by JUNE, reciting names of "satellites", which I think are named after mythological figures? Like the title, definitely something you could imagine an FF-style battle being fought to.

Title: Kung-fu Empire
Artist: Nekomata Master+
Description: Omg this song is unbelievably catchy. As you can probably tell from the title, there's a definite Oriental feel to the song, even though there aren't many Oriental instruments being used. The melody is incredibly complex, yet flows seamlessly and leaves an impression in your head. Even this is one the longest songs in the album, the song far from bores you throughout. I think this is one of the songs where Nekomata Master's true genius shines through.

Title: Usubeni to Ame
Artist: 12012
Description: Lately 12012's releases have been a little disappointing to me, but I'm really happy with the tracks from the Usubeni to Ame single. Usubeni to Ame itself is typical 12012 stuff, I think, but it's the good kind of typical. Kind of reminds me of SHINE. Kind of.

Title: Holy Orders (Be Just or Be Dead)
Artist: Ishiwatari Daisuke
Description: Ky Kiske's theme from Guilty Gear 2 Overture, which I recently got and have been playing often. To be honest, I've always thought Ky's theme from the previous GG games was a little boring, but the GG2 version is by far the best track on the OST. It's less rock and more orchestra this time, with fast-paced strings over electric guitars (though those are still there, just not as promeninent), turning it into a gorgeously dramatic piece. Out of all the tracks from all the GG OSTs I've heard so far, this is definitely one of my all-time favourites.

Title: Marionette Purple
Artist: Ishiwatari Daisuke
Description: More video game music hurrrr. This time it's Carl Clover's theme from Blazblue, which I also recently got and have been playing often and HIGHLY recommend that you play too if you own a PS3/360. Marionette Purple is jazzy and extremely fun. The guitars aren't too loud, and the piano parts throughout the song are a nice touch. This is one of my favourite tracks from the OST, just because it's so addictive.
