Tuesday, July 8, 2008 → Admiring Asuya's awesome new layout... I hope everyone's having a good summer and had an awesome Canada Day, for you fellow Canucks :] Was I the only one that wasn't getting sick of Hiroto and his teeth? They're win.

1. Download one at a time, or else you'll kill Asuya's precious bandwidth.

2. No direct-linking. Or hot-linking, or anything like that. Upload to your own server, s'il vous plait. See previous rule for explanation.

3. Please do not steal the layout or images, or Asuya just might have to cut you.

4. Delete the mp3s after 48 hours. They're for sampling purposes only.

5. Support the artist. It really is worth saving up to buy that long-coveted single or album. Trust us, we know.

6. This isn't really required, but we'd like it if you would be so kind as to tag the tagboard if you download a song. We like feedback and comments.

7. To play these mp3s, you'll need Winzip, or another file-extracting program.

8. If you would like to exchange links/affliate with Kamiuta, please be nice and write an email to us about it. Don't post a quick request on the tagboard. It's just not polite.

Title: Change
Artist: Monkey Majik + Yoshida brothers
Description: Ahhh the Yoshida brothers!!! The ultimate mix of Canada and Japan featuring Barenaked Ladies-like Monkey Majik and shamisen (traditional Japanese "guitar") masters, the Yoshida brothers. Upbeat guitar rhythms with clean falsettos of Maynard and Blaise (was it? lol) and energetic, feverish strumming of the shamisen in the background. The bassline and melody are pretty simple, but catchy nevertheless. Bravo for the shamisen solo! A definite recommend for those who like modern music infused with traditional components.
Title: Sennen no dokusouka
>>sm3122624
Artist: yanagi (song: VOCALOID KAITO)
Description: I always feel touchy about uploading stuff that's not official, but... an upbeat, Celtic-sounding number by amazing amateur artist yanagi, using computer-generated singing via Vocaloid. Listen carefully and you can hear so many different instruments embedded into this song, including acoustic guitar, pipes, orchestra, tambourine, hand drums and many more. One of the best songs I've heard using Kaito to its fullest extent. The vibratos and glissandos in the vocals reminds me at a glance of many Bollywood songs I've heard lol. Beautiful melody and harmony makes me want to cry, sing and dance a jig all at the same time. Those of you with a nicovideo account, please support :)
Title: Chillyditty Of February
>>sm2291596
Artist: DARS (song: VOCALOID KAITO)
Description: What! Prodigy! Another song sung via Kaito that I fell in love with. This song is one of those that you'll find hard to categorize into a genre. The techno-trance intro infused with saxophones reminds me of Chemistry. The song itself seems to have its own unique atmosphere about it that makes it hard to describe. An ambient bass, piano flourishes and electronic sounds sometimes adds a lounge feel. The melody is entirely unpredictable and hard to understand, like the lyrics; which makes it all the more mysterious and attractive. At a glance it seems as if different melodies are all crashing into each other, but when listened to carefully they actually connect and have a distinct pattern. Sometimes I think, only with the creative freedom of being an amateur artist could you come up with something like this! Those of you with a nicovideo account, please support :)

Title: Mr. Wonderful
Artist: Smile.dk
Description: A fairly old song by now but I still like it. Trance-y and everything else you'd expect from Smile.dk, this is a really catchy-sounding song. The music video makes me go "wtf" though. I dunno, I just find it weird that while the girls are making suggestive poses the guy is doing gymnastics by himself of all things, but that could just be me.
Title: Retsu
Artist: Danger☆Gang
Description: Very dark and very heavy song, which, I think, is generally Danger☆Gang's style. Also sounds a bit raw to me, but in a good way. As always, Waka's vocals are impressive, but her screaming not as much. Her voice is lower than how she sounds in other songs, but it's also very powerful and fits in nicely with the music. I also quite like the intro, with Hiko's solo. ♥
Title: Daidai Glitter Summer 2007
Artist: Neu
Description: Despite how funky the title is, it really does sum up the song. It's a newer version of HeaRt's song "Daidai". It sounds almost exactly the same, except that it's much more fast-paced and it's shinier and a tiny bit more poppish, whereas the original sounded heavier. Daidai Glitter Summer 2007 indeed.
